Preeti Subramanian
Preeti Subramanian is a Ph.D. Graduate Student in the Department of Biochemistry at the Medical College at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She has a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Mumbai University, India, and is under the mentorship of Dr. Charles E. Chalfant, faculty in the Department of Biochemistry and a Research Scientist in the Veterans Administration.
Currently, Ms. Subramanian is working on sphingolipid-mediated signal transduction. Her results have been displayed in several poster presentations including Massey Cancer Center Research Retreat (2003, 2004) in Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, 38th Annual Southeastern Regional Lipid Conference (2003), Cashiers, North Carolina and 20th Annual Daniel T. Watts Research Symposium (2003, 2004), Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. She is also the co-author of "Ceramide-1-phosphate is a direct activator of cytosolic phospholipase A2". J. Biol. Chem. 2004. Furthermore, she is preparing several manuscripts for submission for peer-reviewed publication.
