Niccoló Pengo
Niccoló Pengo graduated with Honours in 2008 from the San Raffaele Vita-Salute University in Medical Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology. At the San Raffaele Scientific Institute (Milan) in 2009, he was granted a Ph.D. scholarship in the laboratory of Simone Cenci to study the role of protein homoeostasis in normal and malignant plasma cells. Currently, he is in his second year and is addressing the role of autophagy in plasma cell differentiation and the regulation of proteasomes in multiple myeloma. Because of their secretory capacity, plasma cells are indeed unique models to study protein homoeostasis, with important implications for cancer and immunology.
