Talar Kechichian
Talar Kechichian holds a Master’s degree in Physiology from the American University of Beirut and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Haigazian University. She is currently studying in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), mentored by Dr. Maurizio Del Poeta, M.D., who is a Burroughs Wellcome New Investigator in Pathogenesis of Infectious Diseases. In the near future, Talar is planning to join the PhD programme at MUSC. As an expert in lung physiology and immunology, Talar was instrumental in discovering the factors that allow the airborne human pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans to cause disease.
