Mélanie G. Gareau
Mélanie G. Gareau, Ph.D. is a post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr Philip M. Sherman at the Research Institute, Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. Her current research focuses on the role of probiotics in pathogenic infections in intestinal epithelial cells. Dr Gareau completed her Ph.D. at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada under the supervision of Dr Mary Perdue, focusing on the effect of early life stress on mucosal barrier function. She is the recipient of a Canadian Institutes of Health Research/Canadian Association of Gastroenterology/Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada Post-Doctoral Fellowship research award, which supports her current training.
