Biochemical Journal Young Investigators Award

Erin Norris

Erin H. Norris received her PhD in Pharmacological Sciences from The University of Pennsylvania in May 2004. At Penn, Erin was mentored by Virginia M.-Y. Lee and studied the post-translational modifications of a-synuclein protein by oxidative and nitrative stress mechanisms and how these protein modifications affect the pathogenesis of synucleinopathies. Erin is continuing her scientific training with Sidney Strickland at The Rockefeller University, where she is investigating how stress and fear alter the function and expression of the serine protease, tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), and its inhibitor, PAI-1 by biochemical and behavioural approaches.
