Lauren Cowell

Following undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney, Australia (BSc, Hons I), Lauren Cowell is currently completing her postgraduate studies at the Children's Hospital, Westmead, Sydney, Australia, in the Focal Adhesion Biology group. Lauren's doctoral research has focused on the Cas family of adhesion docking molecules (key molecules in the regulation of proliferation and migration) in breast cancer. Her research has demonstrated novel regulation and phosphorylation of Cas proteins in response to oestrogen receptor (ER) stimulation in ER-positive breast cancer cells. Lauren is supported by an Australian Postgraduate Award and her research achievements have been recognized by a Cancer Institute of NSW Research Scholar Award.
