Enzyme kinetics: the velocity of reactions
Antonio Baici
University of Zurich, Switzerland
Antonio Baici looks back at a series of manuscripts which deal with enzyme kinetics, starting with the foundation of the steady-state treatment of enzyme-catalysed reactions by George Briggs and John Haldane in 1925. This was followed in 1953 with the Dixon plot for linear competitive inhibition by Malcom Dixon, and finally with a series of manuscripts by Athel Cornish-Bowden in 1974 describing the direct linear plot.
